The English Language Arts Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering standards-based instruction in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language. The teacher will create a safe and engaging learning environment, monitor student progress, communicate with stakeholders, and contribute to the overall success of the school community.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Teach reading comprehension, literature, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards.
  • Analyze student data and adjust instruction to meet student needs.
  • Use instructional technology and digital learning tools effectively.
  • Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including students with disabilities and English learners.
  • Foster critical thinking, discussion, and analytical writing skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver daily ELA instruction.
  • Assess student learning through assignments, projects, presentations, and tests.
  • Provide timely feedback on student work.
  • Maintain accurate grades and records.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
